Frontier Technologies this week will roll out security services that let Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4.0 and Outlook Express users manage their own public key infrastructure. The software, e-Lock 2.0, also will support digital signatures and encryption to protect information sent over the Internet. The software consists of e-Lock Desktop, which protects files by digitally signing and encrypting them, and e-Lock Director, which lets security operators manage user registration as well as maintain keys and certificates. Beta versions of both products can be downloaded from www.frontiertech.com. The tools will ship next month. Pricing for e-Lock Desktop is $249 and $1,000 for e-Lock Director.
