PGP Rolls Out Encryption Suite PGP Rolls Out Encryption Suite
By Charlotte Dunlap,Computer Reseller News

SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Pretty Good Privacy unveiled a suite of encryption products designed to bring security to E-mail and data communications from within an enterprise network to the Internet.

The PGP Business Security Suite is described as a scalable set of products integrating PGP into server and management tools. The suite includes PGP for Business Security, PGP Certificate Server, and PGP Policy Management Agent for SMTP.

Company officials describe the technology as offering single-click encryption, decryption, digital signing, and verification of E-mail messages and files; 128-bit cryptography; key generation and management tools so administrators can set configurations and corporate security policies; fast search and retrieval of public keys from PGP Certificate Servers; and integration with popular E-mail packages and productivity tools.

PGP has been pushing to infiltrate its technology into the E-mail community, competing with encryption rival RSA Data Security and its secure MIME technology.

PGP executives told CRN Online that key to its strategy of attracting the mass market will be to simplify the use of encryption technology so users will not find it so cumbersome that they forgo it.
